“In honor of its 125th anniversary, Bvlgari is teaming up with Save the Children’s Rewrite the Future campaign. The campaign’s primary goal is to provide children in poverty-stricken countries with the opportunity to receive an education and thus a far better future than the one they were looking at prior to Save the Children’s involvement.
Save the Children is an organization I hold dear to my heart. I had the privilege of traveling to Africa as an ambassador and got to see first-hand how invaluable their efforts are towards improving the lives of underprivileged children worldwide. They help to provide kids with proper medical care, nourishment, educational programs, and emergency relief.
Experiencing it first-hand was a real eye-opener as to how fortunate I am, and anything I can do to help promote the cause and thereby assist the children in need is well worth my while.
Bvlgari has created a silver ring and pendant with “Save the Children” engraved on the inside and all of the proceeds will go to the campaign. Their goal is to raise 10 million euros by the end of 2009. I am wearing the ring in the photo above, which I took for the campaign along with a number of other celebrities. “Hi everyone. Just wanted to share with you my Autumn/Winter ‘09 handbag collection! I was going for a bohemian, vintage look that is reminiscent of my own personal style. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to travel to a variety of different countries and cities and I find inspiration everywhere I go, which I then incorporate into my designs. To purchase from the Autumn/Winter collection, go to www.MischaBartonHandbags.com…”
“Hi everyone. Just wanted to let all of you know that I have a new film coming out next month!!! It’s called Homecoming and I got to play the jealous, psychotic ex-girlfriend of a college football star. I had a great time filming it and got to work with some pretty fantastic people. Homecoming hits theaters July 17…don’t miss it!!! Read the synopsis of the film below for more details. Love you all!
HOMECOMING: Mike (Matt Long) was the star quarterback in a blue-collar small town where football is everything. After receiving a scholarship to Northwestern University, he returns home over Christmas break and everyone is surprised to see him with a new girlfriend, Elizabeth (Jessica Stroup), a pretty rich girl from Chicago. No one is more shocked than Mike’s homecoming queen ex-girlfriend, Shelby (Mischa Barton), who desperately wants Elizabeth out of the picture. After a freak car accident leaves an injured Elizabeth at the mercy of Shelby, all hell breaks loose as Shelby does everything it takes to get Mike back.”
Just a maintenance update for today. I upgraded the scripts to the latest versions. Sorry for the little downtimes. ;)
The OC star was recently in India for lensing Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain , and was hoping to visit Hindu temples and learn to play the sitar in between filming. However, when her efforts to find a music teacher failed, she complained to fans and friends on her MySpace.com page. “I must say my goal coming here was to learn to play the sitar and it’s coming along real slow as apparently it’s not that easy to procure a great sitar teacher here. I guess it’s not (the) late 60s with Ravi Shankar and George Harrison roaming around,” she is quoted. The 23-year-old actress’ comments have enraged leading scholars, who insist that Barton is being immature if she thinks sitar teachers sit on street corners and advertise tutorials on streetlamps. US Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, said: “India has an abundance of great sitar players. If Mischa could not procure a great sitar teacher in India, the chances of finding the teacher outside India would be even slimmer. Her comment was a very immature statement. It mocks the rich musical heritage of India.”
