Mischa Barton has revealed that when her family first moved to America they didn’t understand Thanksgiving. The former OC star used to beg her Irish and English parents to let her celebrate the tradition – but they cooked everything except turkey. Mischa told Celebuzz.com: “Thanksgiving is actually one of my favourite holidays even though my family doesn’t celebrate it, as we’re English and Irish. “I’ve been begging them to celebrate it since I was a little kid and we moved to New York so it’s one of those things that I get nostalgic about because my parents did everything they could to entertain me. “We were one of those families that didn’t understand that you have to cook a turkey so we would have every other dish that had nothing to do with turkey, it would just be a big meal!” But the 22-year-old actress revealed her family have now got all the Thanksgiving traditions down to a tee. She said: “Finally we’re coming into our own with Thanksgiving. It’s a fun tradition in our house and I have tons to be thankful for this year, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
