Mischa Barton has posed naked for a magazine, proving she’s happy in her own skin. And the actress responds to critics who’ve been negative about her figure. ‘Surely there are more important issues than if someone has cellulite?’ says Mischa. ‘And I don’t understand the point of people looking for bad things. ‘Why bother? I know it’s human nature to want to pick on other people, but I find it a little shallow.’ Mischa, 23, is content with the way she currently looks. ‘I’m happy now. I wouldn’t change my body, and I couldn’t anyway,’ she says. ‘The only way to be happy and be a more enjoyable person to be around is to embrace what you’ve got. ‘Everyone has issues about their body, but I feel confident now. Do you ever have bad hair days? “I definitely have bad hair days! My hair’s a bit unruly sometimes, so I condition it lots. I don’t actually mind messy hair; I quite like a ‘tousled’ look. My hair doesn’t dry completely straight. I don’t like it when it looks too perfect, so long as it feels great.”
What’s your favourite way to wear your hair? Are you quite experimental or conservative with it? “I change things around, but for the most part I just wear it down and natural – so much gets done to my hair when I’m doing red carpet things or especially when I’m acting, so when I’m not working I really like to give it a break in my free time.”
Do you feel pressure to look your best all the time, or do you have a good sense of perspective about it? “I think it’s cooler when girls look themselves, so I don’t fuss too much about the way I look – I really dress for me. I think it’s important as a girl that the way you dress and the way you look are for yourself and you’re not just trying to please other people all the time.” Continue reading…

Before taking a well earned break from her recent roles on the big screen, Mischa is spending a day with In Style modelling the new season’s catwalk trends, from futuristic tailoring to feathers. She tells us that her own wardrobe collection is just as eclectic: “I live in vintage shift dresses or jeans, but there’s also a bit of everything, from designer to H&M, and, like, 50 pairs of shoes – that’s not so bad, right?” Read more…
