Mischa’s latest thriller Homecoming is out on DVD! “Though I’ve done my share of thrillers, I was attracted to the script and the character because I’d previously been on the receiving end of crazy rather than actually portraying it, so it was a lot of fun embracing [my character]’s warped perspective,” Mischa told TV.com.

A film starring top Hollywood actors that dramatises the Bhopal gas disaster has been criticised by campaigners and participants in the tragedy for misrepresenting individuals and the facts. Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain is due for release this autumn with Mischa Barton and Martin Sheen in leading roles. Shot largely in India, it portrays the events around the world’s worst industrial accident, in which clouds of toxic gas escaped from a chemical plant run by a part-owned subsidiary of American company Union Carbide. More than 8,000 people, mainly living in slums around the plant, died immediately when the gas leaked shortly after midnight on December 03, 1984. At least 25,000 others are estimated to have died over subsequent years and many more continue to suffer today. Continue reading…

How far would you go to hang with the hottest girl on campus? Assassination of a High School President is an acid-tongued high-school comedy with attitude to spare, starring a sexy young cast including Mischa Barton (The O.C., The Sixth Sense), Reece Daniel Thompson (Rocket Science), and superstar Bruce Willis. Sophomore newspaper reporter Bobby Funke (Thompson) is assigned to write a cover story on popular class president and top athlete. After a stack of SAT tests is stolen from the office of hard-as-nails Principal Kirkpatrick (Willis), Funke publishes an expose that names Paul as the prime suspect and suddenly, Bobby is BMOC. But when Paul’s girlfriend, sexy senior Francesca (Barton), makes a move on Bobby and even his former bullies play nice, Funke begins to doubt the star jock’s guilt and everyone else’s motives. When his investigation uncovers a campus-wide conspiracy that threatens to take down students and teachers alike, Funke must decide to tell the truth or enjoy his new stud status. Mischa Barton has become the latest victim of the credit crunch – her new movie has stalled as makers can’t find the cash to distribute the film. The actress appears alongside Bruce Willis in Assassination Of A High School President, but the project is in need of investment before a release date is set. And Barton even claims movie distributors, Yari Film Group, have been forced to file for bankruptcy. She says, “They just can’t get the funding to distribute it. The movie is complete and ready to go but there is no release date set and it is not looking likely there will be one.” The film premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and was slated for release in March.
