How far would you go to hang with the hottest girl on campus? Assassination of a High School President is an acid-tongued high-school comedy with attitude to spare, starring a sexy young cast including Mischa Barton (The O.C., The Sixth Sense), Reece Daniel Thompson (Rocket Science), and superstar Bruce Willis. Sophomore newspaper reporter Bobby Funke (Thompson) is assigned to write a cover story on popular class president and top athlete. After a stack of SAT tests is stolen from the office of hard-as-nails Principal Kirkpatrick (Willis), Funke publishes an expose that names Paul as the prime suspect and suddenly, Bobby is BMOC. But when Paul’s girlfriend, sexy senior Francesca (Barton), makes a move on Bobby and even his former bullies play nice, Funke begins to doubt the star jock’s guilt and everyone else’s motives. When his investigation uncovers a campus-wide conspiracy that threatens to take down students and teachers alike, Funke must decide to tell the truth or enjoy his new stud status. Also starring Michael Rapaport, Luke Grimes and Aaron Himelstein.

Mischa Barton has become the latest victim of the credit crunch – her new movie has stalled as makers can’t find the cash to distribute the film. The actress appears alongside Bruce Willis in Assassination Of A High School President, but the project is in need of investment before a release date is set. And Barton even claims movie distributors, Yari Film Group, have been forced to file for bankruptcy. She says, “They just can’t get the funding to distribute it. The movie is complete and ready to go but there is no release date set and it is not looking likely there will be one.” The film premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and was slated for release in March.
Mischa Barton is so determined to land a role in a Shakespearean play that she has taken a course on the playwright to boost her chances of landing a part. The beauty wants to concentrate on her stage career, and therefore, has decided to take a break from pursuing movie roles. Barton insists that gaining a part in one of the Bard’s works is her top priority. She says, “I recently did a Shakespeare course because they don’t teach Shakespeare properly in American schools. “But I suppose as with any play it is about finding the right cast and actors and script for you.”
Mischa Barton is about to get ugly! She’s rumored to have an upcoming role on Ugly Betty. The producers are looking to replace Lindsay with Mischa for a five-episode guest arc on the show. Insiders from the set say, “Mischa’s career is at a standstill, so this might be great for her. It’s not a done deal yet, but talks continue.” We could definitely see Mischa doing this show! She belongs on television. Ever since she left the O.C. to pursue film, her career has gone downhill. We think this will be a good turnaround for her considering the fact that she hasn’t done anything really relevant for some time. One tip for Mischa to actually succeed on the show might be to stay on good terms with America Ferrera. Lindsay’s spot on the show was reportedly cut from six to four episodes because of her behavior on set and her beef with America.
