Mischa Barton takes full blame for her actions in the early hours of December 27th.

“Obviously, I’m 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case, and I’m really disappointed in myself. I don’t know what to say about it except that I’m not perfect, I just don’t ever intend to do something this stupid again.”

Mischa outlines how the events came to be. She says she had not been driving that night but, when the end of the night rolled around, she just wanted to get her car home. It was a lapse in judgment.

“I didn’t have a license. I grew up in New York, you know. The land of people who don’t have to drive. It’s always been the toughest thing about living in L.A. for me. I usually try not to get behind the wheel…”

Mischa could not go into specifics about her arrest or her upcoming court date (February 28).
She does admit that it’s tough having people talk about her all the time. And having them lump her in with Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. To judge her as ‘one of those gilrs’ based on a single mistake, something she intends never to repeat.
Mischa Barton confirms that she is still filming ‘Homecoming.’ There had been rumors that she was off the film because her name was no longer on imdb, but after investigating it, I thought it was probably just a mistake. Glad I didn’t post those rumors. Mischa also talks of working amidst the writers strike, television versus movie work, and the cancellation of the Golden Globes.

First of all, sorry about the little downtime. I upgraded the site and gallery scripts to the newest version. Most likely, most of you have heard about Mischa getting arrested for DUI. I want to point out that I was pretty shocked and pissed when I first heard about this. While, I’m pretty much against everything alcohol and drug related, I think that you’re allowed to make your own mistakes. I really hope that Mischa learnt her lesson and that we’re not going to hear anything again!

Barton arrested for DUI
Actress Mischa Barton has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). The 21-year old was also booked for possession of marijuana and driving without a licence, according to Los Angeles police. Barton was driving her white Range Rover in West Hollywood when stopped by police at 02:46 local time. Police said her car was straddling two lanes of traffic and that she had failed to signal when making a turn. She was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanour drunk driving after failing a field sobriety test. “During Ms Barton’s detention, it was determined that she was an unlicensed driver and was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage,” the official report added. “Ms Barton was arrested and transported to West Hollywood Sheriff’s station where the booking process was completed without incident.” Sergeant John Hocking of the Los Angeles Country Sheriff’s department said the actress was also suspected to be in possession of marijuana and an undisclosed controlled substance. OC star Mischa Barton has thought about giving up acting.
The 21-year-old, who appeared in hit movie Notting Hill aged 12 before shooting to fame as Marissa Cooper in The OC, said that her film career had been an emotional roller coaster.
“I’ve grown up so much as an actress,” she said. “There’s been times I’ve thought, ‘I don’t want to be an actress forever’ and there are times when I feel I can’t live without it because I love it so much. It’s a wild ride.”
Mischa, who plays a former head-girl in the remake of St Trinian’s and stars in the wartime love story Closing Ring, also revealed she missed The OC experience.
“It’s a bit like high school,” she said.
“You wouldn’t want to do it again, but you get nostalgic about the experience.”
The brunette beauty, who split from rocker Cisco Adler at the beginning of this year, added that she was too busy with her career to worry about finding a man.
“I’m so happy I’m single,” said Mischa, who has another four films coming out in 2008.

Mischa Barton is best known for playing bad-girl Marissa from The O.C.. But it’s been easy to move on from that character, she says – they were never much alike anyway.
“Even if I was a precocious teenager, it’s a New York vs. L.A. thing. I never experienced the ‘anything goes’ chaos we sold on The O.C.,” the 21-year-old actress says in an interview with January’s Maxim.
“Marissa was a nut case. I didn’t have much in common with her. In New York I’d want to go out at 15 or 16, but I got it out of my system.”
Was it hard to let Marissa go? “Not at all,” Barton says. In fact, she helped orchestrate her gruesome send-off in a car wreck. “You have no idea how much fun I had doing that [scene]. I was on the set, yelling, “More blood! More blood!” … She needed to go out with a bang.”
Barton has since moved on to movies, including parts in three upcoming films: St. Trinian’s, Virgin Territory, and Closing the Ring. And while she is clearly a candidate for sultry roles, she’s ambivalent about nude scenes.
“I don’t mind nudity. I just don’t do it that often,” she says. “It depends on the film and if I trust the director and if the context is emotional or just sexual.” … read more »
